On Friday 6th July 2018, the Embassy of Solomon Islands celebrated the country’s 40th Independence Anniversary (7th July) together with family, family friends and other diplomats based in Belgium.

The Solomon Islands gained independence from Britain in 1978.

The Embassy had a feast which included a traditional Solomon dessert  called “Cassava pudding”.
