Welcoming the new Ambassador of Timor-Leste

The newly appointed Ambassador of Timor-Leste to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, Her Excellency Mrs. Maria Bessa, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of the Solomon Islands to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, His Excellency Mr. Moses Kouni Mose, at the Solomon Islands Embassy in Brussels.

In welcoming H.E. Mrs. Bessa, Ambassador Mose underscored the importance of fostering closer collaboration between the two countries, particularly in the areas of climate change and other issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mose, who currently serves as Chair of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors, took the opportunity to brief H.E. Mrs. Bessa on the latest developments and ongoing reforms within the OACPS Secretariat. He provided an overview of the key changes taking place and highlighted their significance for the organisation’s future direction. This update formed part of a broader dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation and ensuring that both countries remain actively engaged in key regional and international initiatives.

Ambassador Mose congratulated H.E. Mrs. Bessa on her appointment and expressed his keen interest in working closely with the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Brussels to further enhance bilateral and multilateral collaboration.
