Health Considerations
- COVID 19: As of September 2024, the Solomon Islands Government has lifted all COVID-19-related entry requirements. Travelers no longer need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or testing to enter the country. However, upon arrival, passengers are required to complete a health declaration card, which is provided either onboard arriving aircraft or at the point of entry.
- Malaria & Mosquito-Borne Diseases: The Solomon Islands is a malaria-endemic country. Travelers are strongly advised to take antimalarial medication before their trip and use mosquito repellent, bed nets, and protective clothing to prevent bites.
- Vaccinations: It is recommended that travelers be up to date on routine vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Consult your healthcare provider before travel.
- Medical Facilities: Health services in the Solomon Islands are limited, especially outside Honiara. Travelers should carry necessary medications and consider travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage.

- Crime Prevention: Exercise caution in urban areas like Honiara, where petty crimes such as theft and break-ins may occur. Avoid walking alone at night and secure valuables.
- Civil Unrest: Political demonstrations and unrest can occur, particularly in Honiara. Travelers should avoid large gatherings and monitor local news for updates.
- Natural Disasters: The Solomon Islands is prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, and tropical cyclones (November–May). Be aware of emergency procedures and follow local authorities’ guidance.

Visa Applications
Important Notice: The Solomon Islands Embassy in Brussels does NOT process visa applications.
- All visa applications are handled by the Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour, and Immigration in the Solomon Islands.
- Travelers from the EU and Schengen Area are eligible for visa-free entry for up to 90 days within a 180-day period under the Solomon Islands–EU Visa Waiver Agreement.
- Visitors outside of the visa waiver agreement must apply for a visa before arrival.

Passport Applications & Renewals
Important Notice: The Solomon Islands Embassy in Brussels does NOT process passport applications or renewals.
- Solomon Islands nationals needing to apply for or renew their passports must contact the Immigration Office in Honiara or the Solomon Islands Consulate General Office in Brisbane, Australia.
- It is recommended to apply for passport renewals well in advance to avoid delays.
